RECRUITMENT - GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES
While the application process is closed for 2009, we welcome your interest in our Program and encourage you to forward your CV or Resume to us at hr@audit.wa.gov.au and we will contact you when we launch our next recruitment process.
If you wish to discuss the Office's process, please call our Professional Development Manager, Mandy Murray on 9222 7564.
Our Role
The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) is the largest and most complex audit
practice in Western Australia, and audits both the financial and business operations
of government agencies. A small number of carefully selected graduates will
be part of a substantial professional team focussing on a wide range of activities
including both compliance and attest audits, performance and control reviews
and special projects.
Career
As the largest and most diverse audit practice in Western Australian the OAG
is at the leading edge in terms of procurement, delivery and the regulation
of public services. Supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of the WA
State Public Sector, particularly in financial management, requires a high
level of rigorous independent scrutiny and the OAG is largely responsible
for this function.
In order to enable staff to develop their areas of interest, a variety
of short and long-term assignments are offered within the Office. These
include specialist Information Systems Section or the Performance Review
Division.
The Office supports completion of the CPA program and is also a 'PY
in Commerce' accredited organisation for the CA Program. The Office reimburses
the cost for course fees, additional study materials or study groups,
and with study and exam leave for modules within each program.
Training
The Office offers a comprehensive training program for graduate auditors, consisting
of a combination of structured and on the job training. Training topics include
auditing, government accounting and finance, information systems audit, and
communication skills.
Duties you will perform as a graduate includes assisting in the audit
of financial statements, conducting reviews of controls and compliance
with legislation, research for performance examinations or for submissions,
and information system audits. Graduate auditors may also be given the
opportunity to conduct their own audit in the first year.
Location
The Office is situated on the 4th Floor of Dumas House, 2 Havelock Street,
West Perth.
